Rosie Makinney on Pornography and Your Family

Ep. 83.png

Did you know that 79% of men attending evangelical churches use pornography? Even though porn is destructive, both to individuals and families, many people are not getting help. Porn addicts do not generally reach out for help until something forces them to. Because of shame, bad advice, and a lack of education about porn addiction, wives do not reach out for assistance until they are desperate.

Today’s guest is trying to change that. Rosie Makinney wrote a book called Fight For Love. She believes it is no longer enough to pick up the wounded; we have to go on the offensive.

In this episode you will hear:

  • What you might not know about the porn crisis in the church

  • The effect of pornography on the brain

  • How can we protect our kids from porn

  • What you can do if you find out your spouse uses porn

Key Points:

  • You can’t porn proof your kids overnight. It’s an ongoing conversation.

  • 64% of divorce cases site porn as a contributing factor.

  • Pornography use is not just an issue for men.  ⅓ of females struggle with this too.

  • Recover and a porn-free marriage is possible.
