Daniel Darling and Using our Online Words for Good

Over the last 6 months Twitter, Facebook, and Instagram have become a bit treacherous. People are shaming and yelling at one another. And as a result, we are seeing relationships with friends, and even family members, become strained. It doesn't have to be that way. We can use our online words for good instead.

In this episode you will hear:

  • How identifying your motives can help you choose what to post.

  • What the Bible says about our speech

  • How to decide what news to share and discuss online

Key Points:

  • We can recognize the humanity of the people we disagree with.

  • Civility and courage can go together. You don’t have to be the loudest person “in the room” to be brave.

  • People are not the sum total of their arguments. They're not reduced down to their opinion. They're a whole person.

  • We all have confirmation bias.

  • It’s okay to affirm someone you don’t 100% agree with.
